D. Clayne Heninger

July 13, 1935 — December 10, 2022

On Saturday the 10th of December our dear brother, husband, father, and grandfather, D.Clayne Heninger, age 87, returned home to his Heavenly Father.

Clayne was born and raised in Logan, Utah, where he attended Utah State University. After graduation, Clayne became an Entomologist for the New Mexico department of Agriculture. He worked for the department for many years and was very accomplished at his job.  During his first assignment with the department in Clovis, New Mexico, Clayne met the love of his life, Irene. Together they started a loving family.  He spent four years in the New Mexico National Guard and devoted two years of his life to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Clayne was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanine Jones; children, Kip Heninger and Heather Burke; grandchildren, Maddison Burke and Justin Clayne Heninger; and his parents, Lily and Preston.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Irene Heninger; his brothers, Sheldon and Lynn Heninger; his children, Erik and Travis Heninger; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Clayne was a caring father, a loving husband, and a devoted saint. He will truly be missed by all.
