Christine (Snow) Weckerly

Christine Weckerly, beloved Mother, Stepmother, Sister, and Aunt was called to her eternal resting place on October 31, 2022, after 70 years of life. She entered this world on April 14, 1952, in Albuquerque, NM, born to Edward and Frances Snow. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, Christine “Chris” Weckerly graduated from Highland High School and the University of New Mexico.

During her life, Chris valued family and friends above all else. She was a generous person, not only with her time and resources but also with her love. Chris was an incredible influence on everyone she knew. Her children, nieces, nephews, stepson, and in-laws all benefited from her warm and inclusive nature. Chris loved celebrations. She was known for her superb parties and for being an amazing hostess. Her celebrations are remembered to this day not only for their merriment but also for the joy she showered on all those who attended! Chris had many ups and downs throughout her life, but nothing changed her natural ability to comfort people. If you needed advice about something, a shoulder to cry on, or just a person to vent to, Chris was always there for you. When she stopped throwing parties, she could still be counted on to find the best gifts. Chris would remember the smallest details about what the person liked or didn’t, making them feel important and special. Chris also had a patience and kindness that people gravitated towards. This made it easy for people to feel comfortable in her presence and share intimate details about their lives. This ability enabled her to really get to know that person, not just what they showed to the world, but who they truly were. This allowed her to touch people’s lives in a way only a precious few can. For this and so many other reasons, she will be greatly missed. Fortunately, her legacy lives on through her children, extended family, and all those she affected.

Christine is survived by her daughter Kim Blanchard; sons Bret Blanchard and Travis Blanchard; son-in-law Kris Egeland; daughters-in-law Christina Blanchard and Linda Vu; brothers Ed Snow and Robert Snow; stepson Clint Weckerly; nieces Paige Snowe and Nicole Duran; nephew Jeremy Duran; and grandchildren Juliette, Savanna, Audrey, and Paul Blanchard.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19, at Risen Savior Catholic Community Church at 10:00 a.m.
