Charlene Warwick

d. December 21, 2016

Charlene Warwick, 77, beloved mother and grandmother, was called to Heaven on December 21, 2016. She was born on April 5, 1939 in Kermit, TX, to Charles and Opal Alpine Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Bobby Morgan. She is survived by her daughter, Devin Marshall and her husband, John; son, William Warwick; granddaughters, Stephanie Warwick, Micaiah McIntire, and Brittney McCrary; grandsons, William Douglas Warwick, Daniel, Joseph, and David Marshall; and seven great-grandchildren.
A tenderhearted mother, friend and businesswoman, Charlene was raised in Artesia with her beloved family, many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, nieces, and nephews. Later, her family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she graduated in 1957 from Albuquerque High School and married Douglas Warwick in 1960.
Charlene was a very smart young woman who enjoyed working with numbers and keeping details in order. One of her favorite jobs was being a teller at a little bank in Belen. She worked her way from bottom to top and ended up in an administrative position. Charlene also pioneered several businesses including Mr. Ice and her own real estate and property management company, Warwick Realty, where she would teach, mentor, and employ her daughter, granddaughter, and many others. Charlene was a wise businesswoman who held more together alone than most people could handle in a team.
Charlene loved her family and friends more than anything on this earth. She got so much joy from serving others and teaching her grandkids to cook, bake, and make candy. When she did take moments for herself, she loved to travel with her loved ones. She especially loved visits to the West Coast to sit on the shore of the ocean and to take cruises to the Caribbean. She never let her health stop her from adventuring!
When she wasn't traveling with family, she loved to sing in her choir group, Young At Heart and was a devoted member of her Jasmine Chapter of Eastern Star. These groups brought her so much joy and friendship and she cherished each moment she spent with them.
Charlene was a woman known and characterized by many as a person of incredible strength amidst constant pain and trials of many kinds. However, if you ever had a moment to ask her from where her strength and comfort came, she wouldn't hesitate to tell you that The Lord Jesus and the promises in his word were the source. She loved her Lord dearly and eagerly awaited the moment she would dance in His arms. Free from pain, loneliness, and suffering. Charlene passed away peacefully and gave her all until the very end.
Memorial Graveside Services will be held at Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia, NM on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
