Carolyn Kay Proctor died at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM on February 25, 2017 following a long term, increasingly debilitating illness. Her immediate family was near her side.
She was born September 22, 1946, in Lubbock, TX, the daughter of Warren and Marie Embree. Both parents preceded her in death. Kay is survived by her husband of 49 years, Roger Proctor; her son, Patrick Proctor; her daughter-in-law, Melissa; two grandchildren, Cody and Jillian of Moriarty, NM; and a niece, Jennifer Buckman. She also has one surviving sister, Virginia Luckey, of Temple, TX.
Kay graduated from Bovina (Texas) High School and attended Texas Tech University. After completing Southwest Business College, she spent her entire professional life as a court reporter and was an active partner of Proctor and Davidson, Inc. in Albuquerque. A well-respected member of the legal community, her career in Albuquerque spanned more than 30 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and member of the Church of Christ, where she remained an active participant until her failing heath intervened.
Her family wishes to extend special thanks to all the medical professionals who helped care for her over these last years.
Friends and family may visit Thursday, March 2, 2017, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE in Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the MS Society of New Mexico.
