Carol Ann Townsend Stahl died at home in Albuquerque on January 13, 2022, just shy of her 86th birthday after a short illness with cancer. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Stahl Willoughby and husband Danny Willoughby, Nancy Stahl Dart and husband Greg Dart and Kellea Stahl Perron and husband Cam Perron; six grandchildren, Rachel Willoughby, Aaron Willoughby (Dustyn), Jared Dart, Samuel Dart, Ashlea Schermerhorn (Geoffrey) and Brent Perron (Kellie); and one great grandchild, Leland Perron. She was predeceased by her husband Jack Stahl, her parents and her two brothers Tom Townsend and John Townsend.
Carol was born in Borger, Texas to Art and Louise Townsend. She graduated high school from Odessa High in Odessa, Texas and attended the University of New Mexico where she met Jack Stahl and had 60 wonderful years of marriage. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority, and her sorority sisters became lifelong friends.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a good friend to so many. She was a survivor of polio for 70 years. To know her was to be inspired by her. She was active in Republican politics, worked in the Real Estate business and furniture business alongside her husband.
Carol's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers at a private burial. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, any memorials be made to New Mexico Boys & Girls Ranch, 6209 Hendrix, NE, 87110 or Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE, 87122.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE.
