Bobbie Jean Cranford

Bobbie Jean Cranford, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, following a short illness and a long battle with rheumatoid arthritis. Bobbie was born in Quanah, Texas on July 6, 1940, to Mamie and Harlan Cranford. She grew up in Mineral Wells, Texas.
After attending college and upon completion of her master's degree she was employed by the US Federal Courts. She served the US Federal Courts for 23 years until her retirement. She was the first female officer hired in Northern Texas, the first female supervisor and the first female Deputy Chief. Throughout her career, Bobbie received many awards including Public Administrator of the Year and the Dallas/Fort Worth Women's Special Service Award. Bobbie was a role model and a "trail blazer" for other women within the Department of Corrections.
After retirement Bobbie moved to East Texas. She loved fishing, traveling, either on long car trips or in the RV, especially to South Padre Island. She also loved to take cruises with her partner. But Bobbie especially loved the small things in life, a flower, a rainbow, the sunset, birds and just walking the beach looking for seashells.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie and Harlan Cranford; sister, Harriette Bielss; brother-in-law, Jim Bielss; and nephew, Tim Bielss.
Bobbie is survived by her partner, Kathleen Pfeifer, Kathleen's children (whom were like her own) Sarah Poutsch (Mark Farner), Ellen Obrey (Joel Obrey), Martha Weaver (Neal Weaver), Kathleen's grandchildren, Ben Houston (Samantha), Matt Houston (Lesley), Maddison Weaver (Michael Feldman), Hannah Obrey (Marjorie Trimble), Joshua Weaver, Nicholaus Weaver, Emily Obrey; her nephew, Jeff Bielss (Rhonda Bielss); great-nephew, Chuck Bielss (Molly Bielss); and great-niece, Courtney Nobles (Michael Nobles). She was also loved and will be greatly missed by numerous lifelong friends that she met throughout her life. Bobbie requested that there be no funeral service. We will all toast Bobbie with a glass of fine wine.
