Beverly Deloris Ator

Beverly Deloris Ator, age 94, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1950, died on September 4, 2017, in Albuquerque.

She was born in Pleasant Hill, Illinois, the daughter of the late Frank and Cuma Jennings Turnbaugh. She married high school classmate Homer Ator in 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri. During the early years of their marriage, they enjoyed traveling to various air bases while Homer trained for military service, before settling in Albuquerque which would become their life-long home. Homer passed away in October 2006.

She is survived by daughters, Sharon Seeloff (Philip) of Chandler, AZ, Carol Ashley (Steven), Judith Grady (Michael), and Marcia Paz (Andy) all of Albuquerque. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kelle Pido, Stacey and Roger Seeloff, Carrie Fisher, Cathy Hoffart, Jaime King, Carlee Ashley-Carnes, Janelle Trail, and Stephanie Paz; as well as great-grandchildren, Jennifer Baldwin, Jace and Kyle Pido, Morgan Gockley, Kelton, Bryson, and Evan Fisher, Antonio Martinez, Zane Burtrum, Allie Seeloff, Amaya Trail, Ashley King, Gabriella and Cecilia Hoffart, Jazmyne Paz; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer of 64 years; daughter, Linda Bright; son, Larry Ator; sister ,Virginia Butler and husband, Leroy; and brother, Lyndel (Jack) Turnbaugh and wife, Marydelle.

Beverly graduated from Pleasant Hill High School, class of 1940, and from Spencer Business College, in Hannibal, Missouri. She was employed by the State of Illinois in the early 1940’s, by Dale Bellamah Homes in Albuquerque from 1960-1966, and retired from Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway in 1984 after 18 years of service. She was an avid golfer for many years, greatly enjoyed her flower gardens, traveled extensively, and was always available to sit with the grandchildren and host family holiday dinners. She and Homer were deeply involved in genealogy research and kept records on four branches of their families. Her activities were limited in recent years, but with the loving care of her children and grandchildren she was able to remain in the family home in which she took great pride.

Arrangements will be made by FRENCH Funerals and Cremations. Visitation and services will be held at FRENCH - Lomas followed by interment in Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul N.E. beside her beloved husband, Homer. Please contact FRENCH for details.
