Bernard Cruz Kayate

Bernard C. Kayate, 86 years old, was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He passed away on January 2, 2023, peacefully in his sleep. He was born in Encinal New Mexico to John and Pablita. His mother passed when he was young, so he was raised by his grandmother's and his uncle Joe Alonzo there in Encinal. He will be remembered for the Love he had for his family, grandchildren, his sisters, and his nieces and nephews. He loved the Lord very much. He was a born again Christian and would share his Love of Christ with his family whenever he got the opportunity. During his life he held many jobs, he worked for many years at Sandia Labs, he was the Business Administrator for the Pueblo of Laguna, He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and he also owned his own business at one point in time before he retired.

Bernard (Bernie as he was also known as) is survived by his daughter Donna Fuentes; his son in law Randy; and granddaughters Alexandra and Melodie Fuentes. He is also, survived by his sisters Elizabeth, Ethel Kayate, and Katherine Howard. He also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews.

Bernie was preceded in death by his brother Harold Kayate; grandson Randy Jr.; his loving wife Lucinda. Dad, grandpa you will be missed, you will be forever in our hearts.

A visitation, rosary, and mass will be celebrated on Monday January 9, 2023. Visitation will be at 9:30 AM, Rosary at 10:00 AM, and Mass at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish, located at 2621 Vermont St NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will follow at the Laguna Cemetery, in Laguna New Mexico.
