Leyba-Puma, Alicia Denise Alicia Denise Leyba-Puma was born on August 21, 1978 to David Leyba and Theresa Palomo. Alicia attended Gallup High School and Eastern New Mexico University. She was a passionate science teacher at Gallup Middle School. Though born into a petite frame of 4 feet 11 inches, Alicia's presence was larger than life. Her smile, her laugh, her optimism and her beautiful spirit touched everyone who was blessed to make her acquaintance. Alicia had fervor for life and loved to read and learn, though she found no greater happiness or fulfillment than her role as a mother. Her sons, Caiden and Conner Puma brought her pride beyond measure and endless joy. Alicia had a magic about her that cannot be accurately summarized in words. She lived her life to spread love. A purpose she achieved with great success She is survived by her father, David Leyba and wife, Frances; mother, Theresa Palomo and husband, Oscar; sister, Jennaweh Hondrogiannis and husband, James; sons, Caiden and Conner Puma; and grandparents, Dennis Rosales and Soila Chavira. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Della Rosales; and grandfather, David Leyba. She will be greatly missed by numerous relatives, friends, former students and all that knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015, 10:30 a.m., at Joshua Generation for Jesus Church, 1375 Elva Drive Gallup, New Mexico.
