Alex Brian Monette

Alex was well known as a man that would do anything for anyone at the drop of a dime. You could not tell him you had plans for any project because he would be starting it before you could finish the conversation. Alex had a big heart and would give you anything he knew you liked or wanted. He was very generous with everything he had and would always put other people’s needs and wants before himself. His heart was truly made of gold. Alex also loved being outside in the mountains and working with his hands. One of his biggest hobbies was carving wooden bowls by hand from pieces of burl wood he would find while hiking his favorite mountains. His favorite place to be was in his adopted hometown of Questa, NM. Alex loved to be around people and was always quick to start a conversation with a new person and never forgot a name.



Alex is survived by his mother, Geraldine Cordova; father, Neil Monette (Lueann); grandmother, Frances Cordova; daughters, Crystal Lujan (Roman) and Celeste Ortega; son, Jonathan Romero. He also is survived by his nine loving grandchildren, Dominica, James, Destini, Roman Lujan Jr. (expecting), Xavier and Jacob Romero, and Jaysion, Amias and Amilliani; brothers, Michael (Tiffany), Eric Mojarro, and William Doug Monette. He is loved by an extensive number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. He is also survived by his true love and soulmate, Nadine Varela; children, Kayla and Jeremy Morris; and grandson, Jackson Cash.



Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to French Funerals and Cremations. A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at FRENCH- University. A Rosary and Catholic Mass will take place on Monday, October 21, 2019, at 8:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd SW. Church doors will open with the reciting of the rosary beginning at 8:20 a.m. followed by the Catholic Mass at 9:00 a.m. Alex will be put to rest at Sunset Memorial Park following the Mass. A Reception will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church Parish Hall following the burial.
